I'm back

Due to overwhelming demand I have decided to return... Ok, so only two people noticed I was gone.

Where the hell have I been this past year?
I've moved. I bought a house. I have my dog. I have a girlfriend that tolerates me. I have a job... at least for now.

I think I explained this before: I want to be a Fed. But the agency I want to work for wasn't hiring so I signed on with the city police. So my last post I was working as parking enforcement downtown until the academy. I'm through the academy now.
About the academy: OC spray sucked, Taser sucked, Defensive Tactics sucked, the long boring lectures sucked. I met my girlfriend.
Work: I'm in Field Training now. Things were going really well the first two phases... I was excited to get to work each day. I loved going after bad guys. Third phase has sucked... mids is a whole new beast. My FTO on mids has a reputation... and while it wasn't as bad as reported life still sucked. I learned a lot from him... but life's a bitch right now. The powers that be have decided to put me with someone else for two weeks on mid-shift and if I get my shit together I can move on to final phase. I'm really hoping I can regain my enthusiasm's for the job in the next two weeks.
Most exciting bits about the three months so far on FTO? It turns out dead bodies don't bother me. I liked chasing a bad guy down on foot; I was catching up to him and too bad he got smart and laid down before I caught him. I love driving code (lights and sirens).

House: I decided to quit renting all the time and I finally bought a place of my own. I looked in the city I grew up in and now work in but everything I was interested in cost too much so I began looking outside of the city. I ended up having a house built on a nice size lot in a nice little town. The commute sucks, especially since I don't get good radio reception here so I end up listening to talk radio or I get the books on CD and do some 'reading' during my commute. It a decent little house set up just the way I want it. As I told my folks the house has three bedrooms and two baths in case I accidentally have a family.

Alright, enough for now. Hopefully I'll be back to posting regularly and hopefully I'll have some exciting stories about capturing bad guys and the sort.
